Whilst browsing through some magazines, the quotes on these two pages struck me. I first found "The Future is Leaving" quote and made a collage with it before even finding the second quote and realizing it was a Levi's Strauss campaign.
I did not extract any meaning nor understand the quote when I chose it thus these two collages are the product of just finding imagery that I personally liked and thought worked well together.
"The Future is Leaving" quote seemed contradictory to me and after analysing the final piece, I realised that I took imagery relating to historical aspects (i.e. painting, vintage hat, crown, fossils etc.). I started with the horn and the painting of the lady as the base and worked my way from there.

One part of this collage reminds me of the Dada movement because of the triangle and the Russian dolls.

Various other meanings can be extracted from it too.
"Equipped for the Modern Frontier Go Forth" quote ended up looking like a line from a song "...these are a few of my favourite things"

Although it looks strange and funny on the surface, a deeper meaning can be extracted from it like how people have become materialistic and trying to not fall to their 'death' by trying to climb the social ladder;
or people are keeping up to the times and advancements of technology and how this has affected their future; etc
*I have realised that even the simplest form of a "remix" such as a collage can generate more creativity and ideas, and give an entire new meaning to almost anything and allows a wide variety of interpretations depending on the audience.

*Traditionally cut and pasting which I did with the first collage and digitally remixing the logos and images together were similar but the possibilities with digital remix are much more greater. With the printed images, I was limited with the images themselves, all I could do to alter them was cut them out and select certain parts of the image I wanted. With the digital remix, I was able to play around with size, colour, orientation,and copy certain elements I needed.

I do not have any progression images for the collage as I forgot about it and already pasted the images down and threw the rest away. With the digital collage, I was able to undo stages and redo stages. Once images were pasted down on paper, I couldn't undo it unless I wanted to ruin the image as I only had one copy of it, with the digital images, I could alter them at almost any stage and make copies in case I delete them.

Doing these remixes in both an analogue and digital manner made me realise how interaction with electronic media allows more creativity and control of the media in certain activities.

*Adobe > Adobo
Because of the similarity in the name of the software company and the Filipino chicken dish, the outcome is funny in a way that you would not have thought of computing software and food in one logo. This is also remixing different cultures.

*Puma > Pucca
I found many Puma logo remixes and decided to make my own. Puma is a sports brand whilst and Pucca is a cute character. By using the Puma logo as the base and changing the name and the image to Pucca's it ends up looking like a cute-sy sports brand for kids.
